What Do You Call the Music Lady Gaga (or Other Pop Artist) Sings Over?

The Basics
I can't tell you how many times I've been asked what you call the music that someone like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber or Chris Brown sings over so I thought I'd post it up. In the case of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber you would call that music a "pop beat" which is similar terminology to a rap beat for those who are familiar with rap beats. In the case of Chris Brown it would typically be an RnB beat, but sometimes his songs sound kind of pop-ish so depending on the song it could go either way. The term "beats" just refers to the instrumental, or the background music of a song.

Really?
It might seem strange that you just throw the word "beat" after most genres to find what you're looking for, but that's what the online community of music producers do. Some of this information may seem very basic or like common sense, but I know a lot of aspiring pop artists who many times don't know where to or how to find the type of music they're looking for. They want background music to sing to and create songs and they don't know where to turn. This article is to help those artists.

Where to find these "Pop and RnB beats"
Recording studios many times offer beats / instrumentals of many different genres. However, they can often be overpriced, not have the best selection and have beats that have been already sold to and used by other artists in your area (without informing you). A better way to find music is to use any search engine and search for "pop beats." Using this term you will be much more likely to come across music with a strong dance beat, fun and catchy melody lines and music with an overall similar feel to songs you hear on any hit song focused radio station. If you want more of a pop rock feel you may be out of luck (as far as buying your own online), I have not come across websites offering ready-made songs/beats for that genre. You may not be able to get as much production as you would from physically working with a producer like RedOne (Lady's Gaga's Music Producer from Fame Monster) by getting pop beats online, but you can find many music producers and beat makers who have a lot of talent as well as an incredible value: while their beats can be quite good, they won't cost you $10,000's or $100,000's. Some online producers even offer royalty free music and free beats for promotional purposes to get your career started.

How to Entertain Kids

These little people are a blessing, but there comes a time in every parent's life that you just want to get rid of them, if only for a while. They may do cute little things and look at you with their little eyes but a kid will not understand that mommy wants to work or simply daddy needs some alone time. Parents who have kids and work from home have to deal with this all too often. They tend to throw tantrums when they do not get what they want too.

Granted, Kids will always be kids and you need to entertain them well so that you can deal with other things. Some of the ways you can do that is getting them to make their own art projects. If you are homeschooling your kids, you know which art classes they enjoy most, and you know the personalities of each of your kids. Getting them to make interesting art pieces when there seems to be nothing in the weather to favor their outdoor games is easy. Let every child explore his skills and talents in the arts and make sure everyone is doing something in his age brackets, coloring books may be good for your four-year old, but a six year old may not be so entertained by coloring books and collages are more like the things he may want. If you want to get time to do other things, you may want to keep the scissors and other things from them.

If you are having a party, there are hundreds of ways to entertain kids. While Halloween may not be anywhere near in the calendar, you may have a Halloween themed party in which all the kids will play dress up. Depending on the ages of the kids, you can have any theme to the party. Theme colors are great for any party, so be free to explore these options in décor among other things in the party. Get a bouncing castle and a trampoline for the kids and have someone watch them when they use it. This is a lot of fun too but do not forget to have some interesting video games for the kids as well. Getting them something cool to indulge their sweet teeth will be perfect, especially if you have kids who love sweet things. Kids love sweets but there are some new generation of sweets that are sour, which kids are fans of. You can make interesting party bags and give them out as favors for the kids in the party or simply one of the sweets you will serve the kids when they are in the party. Do not forget the clown too; they will get the kids in a party mood any day.

Some of the other ways of entertaining your little ones when you have them at home is getting them to make scrap books and stick on them mementos of their lives. Tell them to make them as decorative as possible and get them to compete against each other. One of the ways to inculcate a reading culture in the lives of your kids is getting them to start reading books when they are young. You can take them to a local library every once in a while to the children's section. Buy them books and tell them to read the book out loud. You can have a spelling bee and help them to have confidence as well as the ability to spell properly.

Have you ever tried to cook with your kids? Those poor eaters should have a hand in making food, to at least get them interested in how food is made or at least make them eat the food they have on their plates. You can let them have their way with the salad dressing or play cook in the other part of the kitchen alongside your cooking. You can let them decorate pizza with healthy options and decorative ideas as well. Getting kids' ideas into your cooking will make them feel special; that they had a hand in preparing the food that is in front of them. This may get them interested in cooking and who knows, you may inspire them into a career later on.

To open this must Baron Ashbury on cold stone floor lie. You'll find him in the prison cells. Removed previously but the remaining enemies to do the boss fight no bad surprise.

In the fight with the Baron's all about the interruption of his abilities. The more players can interrupt it, the better. Heal Rotting flesh "by the Ashbury heals by 25 percent of its hit points. The cast time is two seconds, the saying itself is when breaking at the top. The main skill of Baron Ashbury is to grab players by the throat and reduce the hit points to one. Then he not only heals over a few seconds your party, but also themselves not interrupt the spell as quickly as possible, waiting, however, that the tank receives at least one or two ticks of healing, so he immediately bites the dust. For healers, it is important to provide them with the tank after one or two major healing spell and then the group to heal something. Save your mana points by the players you think about 30 percent of hit points. Finally, they are soon reduced to a point - but you survived so easily from the remaining shadow magic Baron. These include among others the "pain and suffering". Have you even more air to pause, then you also take care of it. Alternatively, pick up your healers also this magic debuff. Over 25 percent of its hit points the boss goes into his dark archangel figure and caused so against the whole group damage. Here again is your healer asked that supplies the group as evenly as possible with healing spells. Does it make him just by you stand close together.

Snitch the Witch

Long ago in a land time has now forgotten, lived an old selfish witch. So selfish was she that no other of the witches would even talk to her and so it came to be that the old witch moved far away to live alone.

Searching for a perfect place to live and to hide her treasures she came upon a small house made of large white shining stones. It sat between two giant rocks overlooking the sea. No one else lived anywhere around and she felt this would be the best place for her to hide all the silver and gold she had stolen. I don't need anyone to talk to, she thought to herself as she looked all around the house. This is perfect for no one can find me or take away my treasures. Quickly she began sweeping the dust that had accumulated in the abandoned cottage. All the while the oceans waves beat against the rocks sending plumes of water high into the summer sky.

Spending the day cleaning and hiding the gold she suddenly became aware there was nothing at all for her to eat. All the work cleaning had caused her to have an enormous appetite. Her black eyes scoured around the huge cliffs but not one single green plant grew there. I'm no fisherman, she thought to herself, placing her long bony fingers upon her hips. What am I to do? She thought and thought. At last her eyes grew big and a sinister smile crept across her wrinkled lips.

Throwing her long black cloak around her thin shoulders, she made her way back over all the wet rocks and onto a seldom traveled road. I'll just hide here among these rocks and when I see someone coming up the road I can swoop down upon them before they know it. I will steal all of their food and leave them naked and penniless. With that thought in mind, she found a nice hiding place and waited to spring her plan into action.

It was late afternoon when the rickety rackets noise of a carriage woke her from her nap. Waiting until the exact moment, she flew down upon her helpless victims. As luck would have it, she had so many boxes; it took her days to carry it all back to the white stone cottage. The frightened man and woman gladly gave up all of their possessions for fear the witch would turn them into some god forsaken creatures of the sea.

It didn't take very long for the news to spread far and wide about the selfish witch and how she was taking all the possessions from the innocent passersby. It also didn't take very long for all the people to stop going down the road where the witch lay in wait. This made her very angry. She was more determined than ever to take whatever she could. It never crossed her mind to go into town and purchase her own food with the gold and silver she had stolen. Her selfish spirit was becoming more and more greedy day by day.

Being so greedy and acting so wicked, the witch had become very careless. She was So busy stealing from others she had not noticed a mother eagle building a nest for her young just between the stone cottage and the jagged rocks over head. For days the father and the mother eagles brought things to build the nest for their baby birds.

So sharp were the eagle's eyes that they had seen all the places the witch had hidden her stolen treasures. So day by day they helped themselves to the shiny gold and silver coins. Day after day they filled their huge nest with soft bedding for their young ones .The selfish witch so steeped in her own pride and busy with her schemes had unwisely lost track of the things she had stolen. Her mind was so filled with laughter and foolish cackles she had forgotten to keep a list of all of the items she had stolen. Day by day the stolen treasures were taken away.

One sunny day the witch was awakened from her slumber to the sound of hundreds of birds squawking and crying to the tops of their voices. Throwing off the beautiful silk blanket she had stolen, she rushed to the window to see what was happening above her cottage roof. "My Lord, all I need now is a bunch of squawking birds over my head giving away my hiding spot!" she huffed angrily. "I'll make up a potion and put it in the chimney's fire. Those nasty birds will be my dinner!" She snapped as she gathered up her fixings. Out of the cabinets she began to take bottle after bottle of this and that. Into the black pot she mixed up a colorful brew. Then with a click of her heels and a swish of the wooden spoon, the brew began to bubble.

"I suppose I might as well have a taste for myself" she snorted, sipping a big sip from the wooden spoon. "Holy Shenanigans! This is a fine witch's brew for the birds in the sky. Mystic potion do your do and let those birds fall into my stew!" she cackled. Whirling around in circles on the floor she suddenly became quite dizzy. Fearing she might fall, she flung herself onto her bed. "Boy! That was some powerful brew. I got so dizzy I actually thought I felt the floor move beneath my feet!" She sang, making her words into a rhyme and a musical tune of sorts.

Indeed the brew was very strong and the more she sipped the more sleepy she became.

It was only a short time until the witches snores could be heard echoing from cove to cove and bouncing off rocks along the oceans shore. Little did the witch know for her greed had taken her wisdom, that indeed the cottage floor HAD moved. Had she been more thoughtful she might have checked to see just why the cottage was empty. I her haste, she had overlooked her own personal safety.

The cottage floor was resting on two giant rocks whose foundation was being swept away little by little by the crashing waves of water. It was actually causing the cottage

to fall as the rocks gave away to the rushing force of the sea waves. She had failed to look beneath the cottage for if she had looked she would have seen the real reason why no one lived there. No one wanted to risk their lives on the rocks beneath. They knew the power of the ocean and they were no match for it.

The rain fell and the winds blew. Lightning danced across the ocean blue. Thunder rolled across the sky shaking the rocks beneath the cottage floor. The witch did not hear because she had finished a bottle of her own brew and a heavy sleep have over taken her. She continued to sleep and the violent storm shook while the sea swallowed everything in sight.

The eagle's cries greeted the morning sun on a fresh new day. The sea had taken the stone cottage and the witch had been washed away as well.

The eagles continue to drop the gold and silver as they fly across the sky. People are still finding treasures in the most unexpected places all around the town. So, if you find a coin or a precious treasure lying on the ground please remember the selfish witch. Don't let greed make treasures you have found stick to your hands. Do as the eagles and share what you have found with others.

The Early Response of Technical Appreciation of Photography

Photography has been the subject of varied, intelligent and challenging historical analysis and critical debate since its infancy. A critical fascination with the medium has inspired many quite different responses to photographs. Researchers and historians have contributed a long list of works on the history and evolution of photography, detailing technical and artistic developments, which authors and critics, and indeed often the photographers themselves, have wrestled in print with the complex issues, aesthetic, socio-political, or philosophical rose by this image process. Recognition of the importance of history to the understanding of photography is evidenced in the title and context of the first manual of photography, "The History and Description of the Process of the Daguerreotype and Diorama". Most of the early inventors of the photographic process gave account of the origin of their discoveries not just to establish priority but also to assist comprehension of the value and application of the technology. In 1840's the novelty and excitement of the invention tended to dominate commentaries. Photography was a subject of awe, when William Fox Talbot annotated one of his earliest success, 'the negative image of the lattice window at Lacock, Wiltshire', he noted specifically that when the image was first made, he had been able to count every one of the panes of glass which it had recorded. Joseph Ellis proved remarkably prescient as an author and collector. In 1846, he published, 'Photography - A Popular Treatise', an important early survey of technical progress in the medium, detailing the achievements of Talbot, Niepce, Daguerre and Claudet.

The dominant historical perspective on 19th century photography has, however focused an idea of a 'new medium' a proposition first advanced by Elisabeth Eastlake in 1857. Her essay, 'Photography' published anonymously surveyed the short history of the medium in technical terms but also for a critical perspective which compared photography with conventional artistic visual media as 'a new medium of communication'. In 1859, Oliver Wendall Holmes went further and described photography as 'a mirror with memory', his metaphor implies that the photograph is a reflection but one that has been fixed or frozen in time. Antoine Claudet, a French photographer wrote in 1861, "Photography indeed can invent, create and compose as well as copy". In fact particularly in portraiture the machine copies what the true artists has invented, created and composed which could never have been copied or represented if the photographer had not possessed genius. In 1864 Dr Hugh Diamond - editor of The Photographic Journal, and pioneer photographer of mental illness - wrote the report on the International Exhibition in 1862. In this assessment of the state of photography, he claimed there was 'scarce a branch of art, of science of economics, or indeed of human interest in its widest application of this art [photography] has not been made useful'. In medical science, he said, it was used in 'morbid anatomy of malformation and disease generally' as well as recording 'the progress of cases and illustration of surgical treatment'. The long standing tussle between scientific investigators and their illustrators offers one clear example of this process. Before photography, documents were obtained for scientists from artists, but the men of science opposed, what they saw as, the personal vision and aesthetic preferences of artist.

Photography, and in particular the photographic document, slotted neatly into this new vision of objective observation. Throughout its history, the camera has repeatedly been seen as an objective machine that captures information without any interference from the artist. Before the advent of photography police identification of suspects or repeat offenders relied upon eye-witness description and memory. The police began using photography in the 1870's with the emergence of finger printing and subsequently DNA testing. When finger printing was combined with photographs, a powerful new technology of identification and surveillance came into being. One important factor in the development of pictorialism was the rise of mass amateur photography. In 1880's, George Eastman launched the Kodak camera, which enormously simplified the photographic process and reduced the cost. Most writings on photography and its history to this time have been of technical nature, emphasizing the practical rather than the creative aspects of the medium.

A Sad Teenage Love

Jessica Milwood strutted down the halls of North Forsyth Middle School on February 14, only to have her heart shattered. Her boyfriend Daniel Williams was clinging onto the 8th grades biggest skank, and she was pulling him into her by the belt loops on his jeans. She didnt know what to do. So instead of kicking the skank into next week, she spun on her heels and dashed down the hall. She coul feel her icy blue eyes scorch as tears burned the back of her eyes. Her name was called thousands of times but all she could think about was getting home.

Finally she made it to her small house just a block away from Daniels. She headed to her room and threw her books onto her purple rug just in front of her full mirror. Standing in her favorite bullhead jeans and her cutest top from Pac-Sun, she tried to figure out what was wrong. She had the bluest eyes at her school and everyone cooed ober them. She had off center bangs, her hair pure blonde, and was shaped like a normal eight grader. What did Elli have that Jessica didnt? She dropped to her knees, craddling her soft cheeks in between her manicured hands. She had given everything to Daniel, she loved him, called him every night, and had him over every other weekend. Her door creaked open and her eyes watered even more as her crackhead mother stepped into the room.

"What the hell's your problem?" She interrigated while raising a bottle of whiskey to her cherry red lips. She had a lit ciggerette in her other hand and it was bothering Jess's lungs, so she coughed while answering.

"Daniel," She choked between her tears," He cheated on me.. I saw him."

"Whatever you'll find someone," Sge said unthoughtfully leaving the room. Jessica raised her eyebrows and watched her walk away. Her heart dropped into her stomach heavily. She had lost everything, she was all alone. She stood up and slinked into the kitchen. Then she saw her escape.

Her mother's pills.

She shakily walked over to the counter and scooped them into the palm of her hand. Hesitating slightly, she raised them to her mouth, swallowing them carefully. Her tears began to fall as she devoured the rest of them. She knew she had just given up her life, but she had lost everything.

Her eyes began to get blurry as the phone began to ring. Her hands shakily reached for the phone but her body slid sideways onto the tile of the kitchen floor. She tried to heave herself upward, and she made it in the knick of time.

"Hello?" She swallowed.

"Jessica she came onto me I swear. Im so sorry," Daniel cooed to her. "I love you."

She gasped out once, not knowing whether it was the pain of her shattered heart or the overdose of drugs, but she managed to say one thing,"I love you, but your too late."

"Jessica what do you mean? Jessie say something!" He called frantically.
Click

The phone line was cut off and Daniel screamed. He raced out if his house and sprinted down the block. He barged straight through her front door, his massive, bulky body breaking the door down. His fudge brown eyes fell upon his worst nightnare.

Jessica lay cold on the floor, her chest not rising and falling. Her body didn't move, she didn't smile, she wasnt there. Daniel dropped down beside her, carefully picking up her fragile corpse and clutching her against his chest. Her cried into her blonde hair, rocking and gasping. She was gone and it was because he let Elli come onto him. Now he had lost hia best friend, his soul mate.

Furious, he picked up a butchers knife and kissed Jessica's lips once before driving the knife through his windpipe. He fell over onto the kitchen tile, his blood pooling beneath them. And just like that, two lives of two young people are lost...

Thoughts on Buffy the Vampire Slayer Vs. The Vampire Diaries: Consider

While on the surface, the Vampire Diaries may have elements that are in common with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, look deeper and the similarities vanish.

At first glance, there is a similar make-up in the cast of characters and the plot, which has a young woman in love with an ageless vampire. But consider the way the relationships are built in these two shows.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer focused on the strength of the main characters' relationships throughout the seven seasons. Honesty and integrity were pillars of the show, and when a character was dishonest he or she suffered consequences. Consequences for dishonesty occur both as a result of the character's actions, and because their friends held them to account.

A good example is when Buffy ran away without telling anyone. When she came home, she was held to account by all of her friends. They let her know that she didn't have to do it alone, and that their role is to be there to support her with what she is going through. They also let her know the effects that her leaving had on them. They heal through their relationships.

The Vampire Diaries builds no such strength of character relationships. Backstabbing, dishonesty, secrecy, and plotting against each other are paramount. It is very difficult to distinguish the "good guys" from the "bad guys," as all characters seem to live in moral limbo.

The characters make very little effort at any time to investigate the motivations of others, instead making quick assumptions, killing with little understanding of context or having a well-identified rationale. Every once in a while honesty and integrity are featured, but these moments are undermined by the next series of plotted lies, murders or betrayals.

A good example is when Bonnie and her friends use magic to force her young warlock friend to give information. They violate his mind, and yet do so with the premise that it is for the better good. They make no real effort to work with him to find out his motives or to understand if he has a truly good reason for not wishing to give up his information. In this case he is the "bad guy" who isn't really bad, and they are the "good guys" who are doing bad in the name of good.

Another example is when Alaric refuses to speak with Jenna about his past relationship, because doing so would mean letting her into the reality of his world and all the supernatural occurrences in their town. Well, pretty much everyone around her already knows it all, so what's the point in lying and keeping secrets?

In Buffy the Vampire Slayer, when the main characters have a misunderstanding, they explore the reasons behind the actions. Ultimately, I felt that Buffy was able to convey a lesson about being honest and true to one's friends and working through hard problems together. The Vampire Diaries seems to uphold an "I'm in it for me" attitude, while using dishonesty and conspiracy against perceived "enemies" as a means for achieving individual goals.

I would like to see the writers bring in a deeper exploration of the characters motivations, a core set of friends who are honest with each other and work together to defeat the less integral motivations of the "bad guys." Granted life is fraught with gray areas, but surely this show can give us a better lesson than everyone back stabs, plots, lies, and betrays each other in order to achieve the greater good...

The Secret to a Good Horse Portrait

There are owners who have eyes for only their horses, according to an artist from Walla Walla. The owner disregards the champion status of his horse. There is money to be made from this love, as proven by an artist from a ranch on Springdale Road. She both paints and photographs horses. Aside from her experience with a famous actor's championship endurance mount, Shur Raff Zi, she regularly tends to the regular horse lover.

She has found a rare job that mixes work and play. She first became interested in horses as a teenager. She started drawing pictures of horses when she was 11, and pursued the pencil sketching medium for many years. This experience enhanced her shading ability, which she is now known for. Her canvasses are all about capturing the essence of each horse.

Her style of painting is working from a photograph. She rarely makes sketches on the scene, unless it is a special little mark peculiar to the horse like when she makes notes on the horse's color. She says she needs to satisfy the pickiest of customers. Sometimes the owner has a preference for a particular angle, or will point out some special characteristic of the horse that they want emphasized.

Their horses mean everything to some owners, and they memorize everything about them, from facial expressions and wrinkles to cowlicks. Most clients want to capture their steeds exactly, not enhanced. Her repertoire includes many breeds and different events, like barrel racing and cutting.

She says action pictures are so much different that she has to learn the trick to capture a horse in motion. There are certain angles of a cantering horse that make them look plain awkward. She prefers a telephoto lens when photographing horses in action. When she was active in the horse show field, she traveled to as many as 15 18 shows a year.

For some shows she would take photos of the winners, which she would turn into paintings later as prizes. Those photographers who take on shows full time find it easier to develop pictures on the spot with dark rooms in their vans. Then again, she was always more comfortable using her dark room at home.

Family pets of all kinds are also part of her portfolio. To paint a good portrait, she needs to see the dog or cat or at least see a good picture.

Bones - Will they or won't they?

Booth and Bones, Mulder & Scully, and Lyman & Moss. If you got the last reference I am impressed. What do all of these dynamic duos have in common? All have chemistry, so much so that from the first episode on the viewer is always asking…will they or won’t they.

In the series Bones, partners Seeley Booth and Temperance Brennan solve murders. She uses science, and he uses his street wit and superior detecting abilities. It sounds sluggish. However, the on screen pairing of David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel created sparks from the very beginning. Her portrayal of Bones’ dry, egocentric wit, and Boreanaz’s use of his natural charm mash together into a gooey wanting of coupling. For a while it went back and forth. He loves her. She is attracted to him. Always the subtle references and back handed comments about love, friendship, relationships, and life.

The writers took a leap in probably the worst thought of season finale ever, where they bring two similar character together in Booth’s head while he is having brain surgery. It is something we are all trying to forget. Booth has since struggled with these feelings, eventually admitting them to Bones. She brutally tells him that she does not feel the same, and they go off on hiatus for the season.

So now Booth has someone new, and Bones is realizing that she may have let the love of her life slip away, a back and forth.

While the angst is appealing for a while, it is getting rather tedious. The will they or won’t they, has gone from what is going to happen, to get it over with already, will you? I think they are adorable, and the show, while steady in the ratings, is inevitably going to falter, and I for one would rather experience them together then have it be the season or series closer.

The charm of Booth and Bones is their mutual respect and witty banter. The cases are interesting, but lets be real. We watch the show for the characters. In the coming episodes they are promoting Booth’s impending marriage proposal to his current flame Hannah.

Again, will he or won’t he?

Are we going to drag this all the way down the aisle, or will Booth come to his senses? Will Hannah get a call to leave on assignment, and ask Booth to go with her? So many cookie cutter choices, what's a writer to do?
Don’t get me wrong. I like Bones—really liked Bones when the serial killer's head blew off two episodes ago. I like Dr. Sweets, Angela, Hodges, and the ever revolving cast of interns. I enjoy the banter and the chemistry between Booth and Bones.

Television Commercials: I Push the Mute Button

My television-watching over the past decade, is at an all-time low and getting lower by the month. I've dropped more than 90% of television watching over the last decade. Born in 1945, my family got its first television set in 1857, so I've seen my share of television and rotten television commercials, etc.

Today, in 2011, I watch little television, and my writing is better for it.  The networks just simply suck, in my view.  I only watch news programs such as 60 Minutes; Dateline and a few other shows.  Somebody has to sit there, with a milk-mustachio mentality watching these shows.  If I do watch television, I watch mostly shows on PBS...you know the beggars channel.  I watch things that I can learn something from like Nova; Secrets of the Dead; Front line and a few musical specials when they come on, etc.

"Today, television is educational.  The only question is what is it teaching?"  Nicholas Johnson

A few years ago, I was hospitalized for about a week, and like all the other patients, I watched television...mostly cable.  I have to admit, they do have some interesting things on cable.  But, with over 200 million cable channels in the works, you'll find something interesting to watch...and a person can get 'hooked' on television just like anything else.  After I was discharged from the hospital, I think I was hooked, so I called the cable company and ordered cable television.

After I thought about how it would affect my writing and projects, I called the cable company about a week before and cancelled.  That was probably the best thing I have ever done for my writing and my projects.  My mother spent most of her life in front of the TV just like a card-board cut-out.  If you ever wanted my mother...you could find her in front of the television set.  I didn't want to be that way...I wanted to show some success for my time, after all, time is so short.

The worst part of network television, are the commercials.  Since I've seen television commercials since 1957, the commercials today are the pitts!  They are so bad...and so repetitive that I keep the remote right next to me, and every time a commercial comes on...I click it off and go and do something for a minute or two.  I won't listen to all this trash anymore.

"Television has proved that people will look at anything...rather than each other."  Ann Landers

Medical commercials:  These are epicenter of the worst among the worst!  Nothing is sacred anymore...stool softeners; erections...you name it...all produced to make a buck from a stupid television viewer.  I think these commercials are made to cater to the stupid!  I can't imagine company executives spending tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars to make this trash...who try to persuade stupid people to cough up their cash for these ridiculous products.  Go ahead...buy all these products...and burn up your digestive system; your colon; your kidneys and liver; your pancreas...that's what the medical profession wants you to do...they need to have jobs, too, you know.

"Today, watching television often means fighting violence and foul language...and THAT'S just deciding who will hold the remote-control."  Donna Depart

Auto/vehicle sales:  There have always been trashy commercials in this area of the economy.  Detroit has pulled the wool over the eyes of the American people, and made it seem like a person NEEDS a new car every two years, to get the respect he or she deserves...and of course...to stay in debt.

My father died at the age of 81, and he never owned a title to a vehicle.  That's because he was one of those stupids I just talked about, that traded in the 'old car' for a new one every two years.  My mother used to get so mad, because they were alwasy in debt.  That's the way Detroit wants it...they pay their assemblers more than an engineer makes...and who pays for it...the stupid consumer!

When I was discharged from the hospital, I stayed downtown for about six months.  During that time, I did not have a vehicle, so I walked from downtown to the local community college, which was about a two mile walk.  During the walk, I would see and pass by some of the old houses that were built in the 1920's before the the Great Depression.  These houses were so old, that I wondered how they stood up and did not crumble to the ground!  But, guess want was in the driveway of just about every house I saw for the next six months?  You guessed right...a new car!  These beat-up old houses had a new car or vehicle of some type in front of it.  American's are not going to give up their vehicles...even if it cost them a dismal $30 grand!

"Television in an invention that permits you to be entertained in your living room, by people you would not have in your home."  David Frost

In 2011, there are about 200 million cable channels and some of them I find very interesting; the Adultery Channel; the Hysterectomy Channel; the Colonoscopy Channel; the Oprah Wimpy channel; the Eat Thy Neighbor channel, the Love My Welding channel, the Dusting Made Easy channel, the Wino In You channel.  Producers will be looking for winos all over the country to be featured on this cable channel.  So, if you're a wino...you could get your 15 minutes of fame!  (some people have all the luck!)

Local evening/morning news:  I have not seen the evening OR morning local news for over a decade, now.  Much too negative...all I hear about is the same old; the same old murders; rapes; robbery's; corruputions...and on and on and blah blah and more blah.  Why should I waste my time an negativism?  I still read the morning newspaper...or should I say the 'mourning' newspaper, but I can be more selective as to what I read.  The commercials on the news are about the same...trash!

It used to be that the news (both local and national) would take up about 75% of the newscast; and now in 2011, it seems like it's the other way around; 25% news and 75% commercials...I don't watch, but when I do, I just push the mute button and I have no interest in listening or watching these dreaded commercials.

As far as the other products on the commercials, I could go on with the dreariness of these commercials.  But, I have to be fair with the advertisers.  Of the 200 million or so TV commercials I've seen on television since 1957, there was one of my favorites.  It was a Cheerio's commercial, and the little boy in the commercial was about seven years.

The little boy decided it would be a nice thing on his part, if he served his father breakfast in bed.  His father was so grateful, that his son thought about him and served him breakfast in bed...although it was three o clock in the morning!

This was a funny, cute and creative commercial... One out of 200 million ain't bad...the advertising people are on a roll...can we have a drum-roll...

The Technicoloured Dream

When I was as child in Belfast every chance we Dad took me to the cinema as there was always a good picture on somewhere . Movies were an affordable luxury and I got a regular taste every week when we went to one of the old cinema houses in Belfast
I loved the way the man who played the pipe organ would suddenly appear from the floor on a rising platform to entertain patrons before the feature film began . Places like the Ritz in Belfast had class with a capital C . Queues would line up on the pavement for hours to get a seat .

Movie theatres were an affordable luxury in the 1960’s and I got the taste of the cinema very young . Apart from my Father paying for my tickets there were other means of getting in like knowing the theatre ushers who would leave the side door open so you could sneak in before the film began .
Some of the beautiful names given to the theatre houses added glitter and a senses of romance to the buildings . Apart from the Ritz there were other Belfast palaces like The Coliseum , The Duncairn , The Grand Opera House The Broadway , The Majestic , The Astoria ,The Park , The Lido , The Ambassador , The Apollo , The Lyceum , The Tivoli , The Savoy , The Classic , The Imperial . The Odeon formerly known as The Hippodrome and then became ,The New Vic in 1974,
The Capitol and in my village there was the Forum picture house . The forum was opened in 1937 and closed on the advent of the troubles that erupted all over the city in 1967 .
Every week at my school in Butler Street there was a free Forum ticket up for grabs for the student of the week . I did my best to win that by collecting the dinner ticket and running messages for teachers . Being well behaved also helped and it was well worth the effort when you got a Forum ticker as a reward .
My grandfather told me that during the war you could have gained entry for the an empty jam jar .The Forum could seat 1250 people and had a front and back entrance as well as a few side doors . On Saturdays , there was a children’s matinee and all the local kids queue up at the back steps entrance to gain entrance .

As a child this technicolor lifestyle was a great escape for me as often you would feel trapped within the drab black and white landscapes of factories , shops and construction sites . In the world where I lived it was so easy to get pushed inside a social closet that fitted you up with a black shroud that hung over the city . The constant smoke that poured out from chimneys , factories and linen mills offered no colour to the lifestyles people had . So its no wonder that the picture houses became as popular as they did .

As I grew up times were changing . The troubles arrived in Belfast in 1967 and slowly most of the old picture palaces began to close their doors , The Forum and The Savoy first closes in 67 and then like skittles one by one all the other palaces started shutting their doors and sadly any chance of an escape from the dark shroud around the city was finished .
The Ambassador closed 4th March 1972 , The Astoria in 17th August 1974 ,
The Capitol closed 11th January 1975 , The Broadway 31st January 1974 , Duncairn closed 22nd November 1969 The Grand Opera House closed 7th April 1972 , The Classic closed 1st January 1972 , The Lido 1970 , The Majestic closed 4th October 1975 , The Park closes 27th May 1972 , Belfast Picturedrome closed 1970 , The Regal closed 7th January 1967 , The Tivoli closed 7th June 1975 , The Stadium closed 13th March 1976 , 1981 saw The Ritz close it doors and my technicolor existence had suddenly disappeared .
I thought will they ever come back . Is there any chance the magic will return .

I left with for Australia in the seventies and remember for the first time going into Sydney to the movies to watch Earthquake . What a great thrill to have feel an new experience called sense surround . You could actually feel the tremors as you sat in your seat . As a regular movie goer I discovered an escape into my technicolor world where there was no fear of a bomb going off in the middle of a picture . Back in the seventies people could smoke in the pictures houses in Australia .

When I turned 16 I got my drivers license and soon experienced something that took me out of my technicolor closet and into a very personal coloured car park . Drive in movies had its grip on me . I was hooked on drive in movies . Every week I went to watch what ever was worth watching around one of the Sydney drive in movie sites from Casula to Chullora , or Bass Hill to Dundas .

As the years went by people found a new experience in the comfort of their homes . The arrival of video players brought a the technicolor dream closer than ever before and it wasn’t long before drive in movie theatres started closing down .

Now in the 21st century crowds are coming back to the picture houses again with new digital productions and huge improvements with sound and picture quality . Three dimensional effects are hitting the big screens and people are again finding an escape from their drab black and white landscapes .
We all need an escape hatch at times and going to watch a good movie is still Its still an affordable luxury and one that churns out billions in the movie making industry .

All we need are good scripts , talented actors , comfortable seats and most importantly the colour of life that keeps us thinking we have a chance to continue the technicolor dream .

Chuck versus the C.A.T. Squad

I would have loved to have been in the room when the NBC executives heard this pitch. It probably went something like this; under achieving tech geek has a super computer downloaded into his brain, turning him into the greatest American hero of spies. Hot protective CIA agent, and Bulky brainless NSA agent are assigned to protect him. Add in that he has to keep it a secret from an overprotective sister, and his best friend and chaos ensues. Add in a few gratuitous panty shots and we have the addictive, NBC hit Chuck.
As all successful prime time shows do, Chuck had a rough start and came very, very close to being axed in its second season. Rumor is the president of NBC vetoed the decision as he is a personal fan.
So how do you save a dying show?
You amp up the voltage.
At the end of season two, Chuck downloaded the upgraded intersect, and BAM he became the super spy everyone thought he could be. Now granted, this could have taken a turn for the worse. NBC could have made a complete three-sixty and turned Chuck into a -knock-em-out, drag-em-up, mindless, action serial. Thankfully NBC was smart, they took what was charming and good about the show, its innocent characters, and witty humor, and just pumped up the action sequences. Now you have joy for all, and this new formula has since saved the series.
Back to the wedding of Super Spy but still good guy Chuck and ever so sexy and still mysterious Sarah. All signs point season finale wedding, we have gotten through the proposal, whether or not to have a big or small wedding, and most recently, the engagement party.
Chuck, being Chuck, invited three of Sarah’s ex CIA partners to the engagement party. Of course, no one in Sarah’s life in normal, so they arrive via rope slide from a helicopter, Sarah’s car explodes, and there are C.A.T fights throughout. Three women, all previous members of the C.A.T. squad, (Clandestine Attack Team), bring with them a former nemesis in ‘the gentle hand’ leader, Lou Diamond Phillips.
This rolls into a nice stand-alone episode with several sweet moments, including Sarah asking Ellie to be her Maid of Honor, as well as Sarah admitting to Chuck how much she needs him. Kick Butt moments included a great action sequence in Castle between Sarah and C.A.T friend Zondra, and the meeting of the C.A.T team and the nemesis during Carnival in Rio.
Overall, an enjoyable episode of Chuck.
Prediction: the way things are lining up it looks like we will be learning a lot about Sarah’s past, including the emergence of her mother and father before season’s end. This will probably scare Sarah into crisis, and Chuck will have to bring her back from the edge. I also foresee Casey getting caught with his daughter by her Mom. While Alex has stated that she wants Casey to stay away, it will most likely turn out that Casey’s love, loves him back.
Chuck delivers as always, looking forward to next week, Chuck versus The Masquerade - Chuck and Sarah's Valentine's Day is put on hold when they must travel to England to protect an oil baron's daughter. A mysterious woman makes Casey a compelling offer. Ellie and Devon receive parenting help from an unusual source.

Godzilla's True Story

The name of the monster was 'Gojira'. Go= gorilla. Kujira = whale. So, gorilla whale =  Gojira. But hard to pronounce for Americans. A USA producer bought it, hired Raymond Burr for only 4 days, filmed perfectly matching scenes in Hollywood, and changed the name to Godzilla

Raymond Burr was not in the movie, but top actors from Japan including the leader of 'The Seven Samurai'. Now you can get the double DVD with the original Japanese version with English sub-titles, or the US version with Burr in it and in english. Later Burr appeared in Godzilla 1985.

When you watch it again and realize that all the Burr scenes were done later you will be impressed with how he is cut into the movie. He's often just observing events with Japanese extras behind him to match the scenes that were already taken. But it fits because he plays a reporter.

In the hospital where he is injured and talking to the woman. It was originally the woman talking to a Japanese actor. Burr was flawlessly inserted. And this was before CGS. Fooled me, even as an adult.

For the US version of Godzilla, James Hong (Chinatown) and Samee Tong (Bachelor Father) did seven voices each on it, along with one actress.

The original version had a strong anti-nuclear message, but was watered down in the US version, not because of politics, but because of story pace. The US version was 80 minutes, while the original was 95 minutes.

Because of the extensive special effects, 'Gojira' was  the first movie in Japan to use story boards, based on Walt Disney's use of them for '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' a year earlier.

Elizabeth Taylor Fantasy

Although feeling very sad about the passing of Elizabeth Taylor, I know she had a wonderful sense of humor – so I think she would have enjoyed reading about my fantasy dinner with her.

Back in 2001, my husband and I had big plans to participate in the Taos Talking Picture Festival because we would be meeting Elizabeth, who was that year’s Maverick Award winner. Unfortunately, those plans fell flat. Actually, I’m the one who took the fall by tripping over a rug in the bathroom, then ending up with head and arm injuries. When I broke the news about not being able to cover the festival because of this clumsy accident, one of my editors said, “Just make something up!” So I did, and here’s an excerpt from the article I submitted:

Never underestimate the power of imagination. That’s how, while recuperating from injuries, I took a magic carpet ride to Taos, New Mexico, for the April film festivities there. Of course, dinner with a Hollywood legend emerged as the highlight of this trip. Everyone knows Elizabeth Taylor is the last of the Great Movie Stars, so it was a thrill to see her receive a tribute for her incredible acting career. Although Liz already has two Oscars (one for Butter field 8 and the other for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) and was dubbed Dame Elizabeth by Queen Elizabeth, she deserves as many awards as she can get after over fifty years as a Hollywood leading lady.
Immediately following her Festival tribute, Larry and I joined Liz for dinner at the Holiday Inn Don Fernando. She looked lovely in a white jacket that contrasted dramatically with her dark hair and famous violet eyes. After congratulating her on such an amazing film career, I told her about what my mother did when MGM was searching for a child to star in National Velvet. "She sent the studio a picture of me riding a horse," I said.
"I wonder how many other mothers did the same thing?" Liz mused. "But I think you’re lucky you didn’t get the part. I hurt my back during filming National Velvet, and that was probably the beginning of all my health problems."
Larry pointed to my cast and added, "Betty Jo has had her share of those too. Looks like both of you are real survivors."
"And YOU are a real sweetheart," Liz tossed back at him flirtatiously.
Suddenly it dawned on me that Liz is between husbands now. No wonder I breathed a sigh of relief when dinner was over. After all, this is my fantasy, not Larry’s.

Part Three Looking for Love

I was in my forties, when I finally turned to the magical intensive healing of Art Therapy when I was too ill to do anything else as often happens with creative souls yearning to be set free.
Because being loved by others was not always as satisfying as I hoped, each loss watered my disease of depression until I could no longer hide my dysfunction. My face and hands began to swell and my wobbly legs no longer let me dance. My memory came and went as did my chronic pain. My depression didn’t permit self-love or good self-esteem. It wanted me to ask for nothing and expect nothing. It made me deaf to the needs of others; loving it when I was sad, sick and bored. I had not yet learned the joy of self-love. I was in my forties, when I finally turned to the magical intensive healing of Art Therapy when I was too ill to do anything else as often happens with creative souls yearning to be set free.

I was in the midst of an emotional and mental crisis brought on once, again, by another breakdown from depression. “Why me?” I cried, feeling the full weight of self-pity. After a long hospital stay, and a period of medication and counseling for depression, the nurses once again introduced me to pencils and crayons. They told, I had the time even if I didn’t have the will to go on. Angrily, I obliged them by filling pages with doodles and scribbling, which came natural to me. They always ended up torn to threads piled on the floor.

Everybody laughed at me. At first this just made me angrier. After a while, I began laughing, too, at the absurdity of acting like a child at forty. As for my renderings, I didn’t have to worry if they were bad as bad can be. No one really cared. I found a safe place to hide and heal.

I began liking expressing myself so much in the arts that when I got out of the hospital, I decided to take some writing and art courses. I began a decade of art intensive therapy. It wasn’t easy. I still had the pain to deal with and there was little money and lots of bills. I worried my poems might break in pieces at any moment when I hadn’t paid my electric bill. One day I was caught up in sadness and the next I was manically throwing myself into creativity. Because I am a perfectionist, I thought my work was never good enough until I read that Henri Matisse, the famous painter, once confessed he, too, felt bad he never painted like everybody else. When he was too ill to sit up and paint, he had a piece of coal tied to a long stick, to enable him to draw on a piece of paper attached to the ceiling over his hospital bed. I guess we’re never too young or too old, or too ill to have the desire to create. John Russell, the art critic, observed, “There is in art a clairvoyance for which we have not yet found a name, and still less an explanation.” I found there was nothing like replacing my depression while keeping busy doing something I loved. I was surprised to find a fresher, less tormented self, as well as a newfound confidence I could not have prophesied.

John Curry – The True Entertainer and Ice Skating Celebrity

With the Fassis and EST to support him, John Curry finally began realising his potential on an international stage in 1976. He won the European Figure Skating Championship, with a performance which all nine judges gave 5.9 for artistic expression. He did not reach the same peak for his technical expertise, but avoided any major errors – unlike the reigning champion, Russia’s Vladimir Kovalev, who fell during his routine, unnerved by Curry’s new-found fluency. Encouraged by the Fassis, John incorporated passages of classical ballet into his routine, including dances associated with Rudolf Nureyev. He followed this triumph by taking gold at the Winter Olympics and winning the World Figure Skating Championship.  John was now a celebrity. However, the price of fame was press interest in his private life. While John had never denied being gay, he feared that public prejudice could jeopardise his ice dance project. Attending the annual sports writers’ dinner after being voted 1976 Sports Personality of the Year, he experienced bigotry on a more immediate level. After-dinner comedian Roger de Courcey’s mocking reference to John as a ‘fairy’ was offensive enough; what was worse, the assembled journalists appeared to endorse it, their laughter humiliating John just as his career peaked. John’s dealings with the press grew guarded, and he gained a reputation for aloofness and hostility.  Company on the ice.  Now retired from competition, John pursued his vision of ice dance. With a company of six skaters, he booked a West End theatre and put on Theatre of Skating, featuring ice dance pieces by established ballet choreographers. At its climax, he and a partner skated to Debussy’s L’Apr่s-midi d’un Faune, an adaptation of a ballet piece danced by the legendary Nijinsky. John’s daring paid off: his artistry was recognised by ballet critics and the show sold out. However, plans to tour it came to nothing. Discouraged by what he perceived as the British attitude to his work and his sexuality – exemplified by an unprovoked assault in the street around this time – John decided to return to the US. Settled in New York, where he found an active and supportive gay community, John brought his show to Broadway in 1978 under the name of Ice Dancing. The show was a hit, but once again touring engagements were limited. In the early 1980s John finally put together the balletic ice dance company of which he had dreamt. The company toured the world, drawing critical acclaim and appreciative audiences. John’s return to London in 1984, using a rink hastily created for the occasion in the Albert Hall, was a critical and commercial triumph. However, what drew the audiences were not necessarily the artistic qualities hailed by the critics: more used to watching ice skating as a sport, audiences tended to applaud the most difficult or spectacular moves. As the novelty of ice dance wore off, the new form could not draw the large audiences which John’s company needed to make it viable. Finally, after two years of solid touring, John sacked his producers in 1985, effectively closing the company.  Hanging up his skates.  John turned his back on the ice and focused on dance. One critic described John, with his life partner Anthony Dowell and Natalia Makarova, on stage at the Metropolitan Opera performing a soft-shoe routine. He never looked happier, not even on skates, recalled Octavio Roca in the San Francisco Chronicle. In 1987 John was diagnosed as HIV positive. He developed AIDS in 1990 and returned to Britain to live with his mother. In 1992, facing media inquiries with unflinching honesty, he went public about his condition. In April 1994, weakened by AIDS, he died of a heart attack. He was 44. John Curry transformed ice skating. His problems were those faced by many pioneers: incomprehension from most, prejudice from many, active support from too few. His tragedy is that his life was cut short before he could overcome them

Car Game - A Burnout Dominator

Burnout Dominator is a car game available with the video games. It is well supported for Playstation 2 and the Playstation portable. No game has endeared itself to us the way the burnout series has. Perhaps it's the insane speeds. Or the rewarding feeling you get when you introduce opponents to the friendly pillar on the corner of the road. There's that sweet taste of revenge as you descend from the skies onto the bonnet of the unsuspecting fool who thought he could get away with taking you down. A new feature called burnout revenge, they have added a bunch of new modes to the burnout dominator, but one of the best features has now been disowned. The gloriously destructive car crash mode is gone from the game.

The versions for every platform do not communicate with each other. The plus point of this car game is they you can change the burnout's drive like a maniac while boosting, and you will get an instant boost recharge that will let you go even faster. Traffic checking is gone, so you cannot use the hapless public as pawns in your game of death and destruction any more. This is all as fun as it sounds, but definitely tougher, what with the going boom every time you hit traffic a bit. The overall game play has not changed enough to warrant comment, other than that we are glad it all feels the same as the previous car game.

This game seems amazing, and is a testament to the fact that the old PS2 still has a life. For someone new to franchise, it is an excellent game to have. Revenge owners; buy this only if you are bored with the same old locations. Apart from this, there are lots of car games available on the internet offering a common platform for playing games and having fun on the internet. You can even play these games with friends and family and have quality time. However, you must make sure that you get on genuine and legit websites to play these games.

50 Cent Mixtapes A Vehicle To Fame

Since the 1970’s, mixtapes have been a fundamental aspect of gaining recognition in the hip hop world. Since the advancement of technology and the ability to burn CD’s, though, not all rappers are utilizing them as they used to. Regardless, some artists still see their importance, thus why there are so many 50 Cent mixtapes available for sale and for download.

50 Cent’s debut mainstream album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, was released in 2003 and included hit singles such as “In da Club” and “P.I.M.P.” That same year, he was granted an imprint label, G-Unit Records. He released The Massacre two years later which went multi-platinum internationally. His next two albums, Curtis and Before I Self Destruct, both debuted in the top five of the charts. Needless to say, 50 Cent is a renowned hip hop artist.

Despite his hit albums and singles, there are a number of 50 Cent Mixtapes  which date back to the origin of his career and are various in subject matter and reasoning for recording. His first was 50 Cent is the Future, recorded in 2002, which he travelled to Canada to record. It consists of revisited material by Jay Z and Raphael Saadiq. This was named #1 for best of all time in the XXL Top 20 Mixtapes.

The second official 50 Cent Mixtape was No Mercy, No Fear and included his hit single, “Wanksta,” which became a chart-topping hit after the fact. This is just the tip of the iceberg when considering all of 50 Cent’s achievements in terms of tapes. The rapper became known for his playlists before he was known for his albums and singles, which is the true meaning of the art.

50 Cent mixtapes are modern examples of the meaning of the tapes in the ‘70’s. He uses them to gain popularity in their own right, not to supplement his already golden reputation for his hip hop songs. He even has singles and remixes that are immensely popular and which originated on these tapes.

The author of this article has expertise in 50 Cent mixtapes. The articles on 50 Cent mixtapes reveals the author’s knowledge on the same. The author has written many articles on mixtpes as well.
